EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra pictured

Only reason you buy an EVGA graphics card these days anyway, is to smack a water block on it! It's all about the warranty for me, I never cared for their cooler design anyway.

They did get burned with ACX cards overheating :), and overcompensated with ICX. Their coolers are now really good.

Having a ACX card and also having just installed a Zotac non amp card for a friend.. the Zotac card is far superior. Temps are same but at half the noise. The Zotac card at 100% fan speed is equal to about my ACX card at 60%

As ugly as I find them I'd still get one and it's not like I will see it. Not that I am though.

If you pay £1150 now it will totally be £1500 next year.

Every time you wave the green flag they will push the prices higher.

Thankfully it seems Nvidia have priced most people out. So they will soon find out how well they sell. This really is a game for the rich, and if there are that many people with nothing better to do with £1150 then so be it.

Yeah - the key phrase was not that I am though. My point was that I'm not adverse to the cooler despite it not being my favourite. Backplate is the worst EVGA ever designed too. Looks cheap and rushed. And the lettering on the side is still way too large!! I liked the size on my old 980 Ti classy, now that and the way the lettering was implemented looked gorgeous!!!

Yeah loved the 980Ti classy. Very nice card man. It's all gotten a bit outrageous since.

90% of the cards I have seen already "leaked" look really cheap and nasty. I guess it's because of the cost of RGB that they make sacrificies everywhere. Visually they are all just plain black with cheap looking plastic coolers.

I do quite like that clear EVGA one, though I would probably only light it a single colour. I reckon it would look nice in white :)

I really don't know what to make of these prices. Like, why? I mean sure, more price = more profit but that isn't going to work out when so many of your audience simply can't afford it. I could, but it would mean 3 months of buying nothing and I cba. It's just not worth it for a pretty game.

A part of me wonders if they have done this to keep the prices up on the Pascal stock they are now lumbered with. However, they are not doing themselves any favours by showing you how crap Pascal is compared to Turing ! that will never work out lol.

EVGA in white LED is always a winner - they do a clean white!

I wonder about the temperature differences between the 2 and 3 fan coolers.

Perhaps it's the shareholders fault for these prices. They've gotten used to these with the mining frenzy and now way they'd accept halve of that after its downfall.

I hope they won't sell a single one and green will be forced to cut deep into the pricing. Would be great if reviewers would collectively decline to review such priced cards or at least not praise them or recommend them to their audience.

I really wish people could understand the gravity of this.

Rewind to exactly a year ago, and mining explodes. Gamers are utterly forked, you could not find a GPU for love nor money anywhere, right. Other than lip service Nvidia do nothing to help gamers, at all. Apart from say they love us etc (or was that AMD?) but words don't = available GPUs.

So OK, they are giving us the heave ho and making tons of cash from miners. Only, some one realises "What if mining crashes?" and of course Nvidia make the biggest clusterfudge of the decade and decide to make tons of mining cards far too late.

Now that sucks. OK, so now the miners are done with their free leccy (being paid for by mining) and profits who is going to pick up the pieces and fix this mess?

I know ! gamers. They are the mugs who will pay any price for anything Nvidia sell...

And that is what they are doing now. Trying to come back to gamers to solve this mess they are in. And the upsetting part is they will totally get away with it.
