EVGA and NVIDIA - Halloween Launch Event

EVGA and NVIDIA would like to invite you to a new graphics card launch at the NVIDIA campus in Santa Clara, CA. No it’s not based on the new Fermi architecture… we are still finalizing those details, so stay tuned. It’s a rocking new graphics card designed by NVIDIA and EVGA to take PhysX to the next level.

Being as there doesn't seem to be much stock to talk about anywhere (280/285/275), a few cards here and there on some retail sites - information gathered from a few places is indicating this to be something to the effect of a 275+250, possibly on a single pcb.

What a strange event.

This has got something to do with Batman.

I know it.

At the bottom of the webpage it says:

Riddle me this, riddle me that... this card does more than render a bat."

If anyone here has played Batman: Arkham Asylum, they will notice the "riddle me this" part.

Or it could have something to do with Halloween which seems much more realistic.

Oh and it also talks about Batman costumes and stuff. :)

IMHO this is there way or trying to claw back some sales from the red team. Only a fanboy would buy one..... Eh Rast?

It's a card with built in PhysX, nice idea tbh.

Well I can only see it being nice if its considerably cheaper than a 295, which given that it would be a custom PCB + the fact that its an over priced EVGA I'm not so sure would be the case.

Yeah bump it. (never any need to ask me stuff, just go ahead tbh)

Thing is I'd only heard rumors on the makeup of the card on the grapevine, but then had a mail shot about eVGA.

It's a decent idea considering what's available for those who enjoy physx options. Adds a few % to the already popular 275. Cynical anti-fanbois-for-the-sake-of-it would see it as an attempt at a market grab. Pfft

Afaik it'll be limited also, but that's also understandable with what's to come. Chances are the camps got their heads together to come up with an interim card to sell.

Been saying for a long time, since doing physx benches, that something like a 8800GT/9800GT is way ott for physx processing. For those using both now, they have an option.

U have to remember also that this seems to be unique to eVGA, so it's not like an across the range decision.

Something to the effect of nVidia allowing the ASUS Mars I care to compare.

(got a silly picture in my head now of a 275 with another card black-taped to the side of it with pumpkin stickers over the 2)
