EVGA announces their GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Copper single slot GPU

I don't know why do you even have this discussion... This card is not intended for mortals. And no it is not competing with founders edition, or even STRIX cards. Other cards from EVGA range do this. It is made for LN2 hard core overclockers. I saw interview with Kingpin who said that they intentionally delayed the product to see what others have to offer and then release this one to be the ultimate edition. No one is moaning about Rampage Vi Extreme prices. This card has state of the art power delivery, and heavily pre-binned chips. It was designed to be the best full stop.

If what u want is LN2 and bench then you dont buy a watercooled card or a 3rd party card at all as the cooler becomes irrelevant.

Does the normal Kingpin card OC better than the rest? Not really. Does the HOF OC better than the rest Not really.

Most of the cards are the same in the Pascal series (1080ti)

I think you have got just about everything wrong here !!!

If the card was for LN2 benching it would not come with a waterblock.

There are 1080 Ti cards with better power delivery.

I don't think the chips are that well binned as a guaranteed overclock of 2025mhz is rubbish and most FE cards can do that easy.

If EVGA were serious about selling a LN2 card it would just be the PCB with no cooler and a pot fitted.

Almost forgot, why is the price so high compared to the air cooled version. Waterblocks cost about £100 which is probably quite a bit cheaper than the excellent cooler on the air cooled version. $250 extra for the watercooled version (which has identical specs) EVGA are having a laugh.

Yea i was maybe little to harsh. Sorry... Will you see benefits like you would with Rampage? Probably not. Is it the best card out there? Arguable. But we must face with the sad truth. There are loaded whales out there who just buy the best. All the fuss about Battlefront 2 is the game developers milking whales who have more money than sense. Why wouldn't EVGA? Kingpin name stands for something. The way pascal cards were made by nVidia means there are no big differences between them. Nothing we or manufacturers can do about it. It is good that there are still top of the line models. In this case it is just a fashion statement, instead of full blown enthusiast card. What i have meant is: This is Kingpin it should be expensive. But sadly with this generation you are good with any chip if you put it under water. I don't see the point of arguing about the price/performance. In this case it is not possible.

I don't mind spending on PC hardware but even I find it difficult to justify the price of some of the 1080 ti cards like the Kudan or Kingpin which offer less performance yet are more expensive than a Titan Xp. I think the maximum anyone should be charging for a 1080 Ti is around £800 as it is difficult to add anything with better materials to improve the card beyond that.

Here is my latest GPU in action.:)

That actually looks really cool. Like, I don't mind that it doesn't match the others. It stands out in just the right kind of way.

I prefer the reference design. In my own experience these are the cards that will last longer, and less chance of coil whine. Way too many times have I gotten a custom gfx card from a reputable brand with these so-called awesome over the top quality mosfets, and they don't do a thing... They coil whine just as well lol!

Btw I'm ordering the Star Wars Titan X CE Jedi Order soon! Will be building a themed PC around this card (that's the plan anyway) :)
