I don't know if this is already on here somewhere, but if it is I haven't seen it.

EVGA's 790i mobo spotted:

leeched from:

DDR3, 6x Sata, 2x PCI-2.0 and a monster cooler similar to those on the new 780i mobos from the likes of XFX

edit: Notice the four ram slots, there was a rumor going around 790i only had three

Only having 3 RAM slots would be stupid imo.. I just can't see what benefit it would have in any way??

Well apart from space on the board

Anyone who knows different feel free to enlighten me :)

I doubt it will have only 3 slots.. "High Spec" my arse. :)

But yeah, seen the EVGA... so far I am not impressed with the new chipset.

Board looks pretty though ay

I like the esthetic looks of the board tbh.

3 ram slots would be fine IF they said it was able to read them in trio :p Beats me why we`re still just using single and dual channel.

DDR2 mobos will start coming in 3 and 2 slots soon enough. 2x2g being cheap atm kinda negates `most` peoples needs for 4 slots. DDR mobos went the same b4 their prices rose from the trough.

To bad Nvidia chipsets tend to run very hot. Personally I prefer the Intel chipset at the moment, but fortunately I also don't see the need for running SLI. Think the chipsetcooling will be noisy also, like the old S939 little noisemakers (referring to Asus/MSI/GB Nforce boards).

PS: what's NDA?

OMG Thread Resurrection (since I hate starting new ones)

Nvidia 790i Ultra SLI gets an impressive score in 3Dmark 06', and its on air cooling too

I've been thinking that the seemingly underwhelming power of the 9800GX2/GTX could be countered by a large performance gain in their SLI (the 9600GT's are meant to be a marked improvement), which makes sense since they seem to want us all to buy a shed load of cards at once.

Although if I'm ever right the world will end.
