ETA issues

Hey guys, Recently OCed my 1090T to 4GHz, but theres a problem when folding. The ETA has frantic jumps, for a few mins it will be at around 2 hours ETA, then suddenly it will jump into 10's of hours I don't know why its doing this, and PPD seems very low considering I've got a 4Ghz OC on it. Its very hard to even finish a small WU

Oh, and my f@h rig thats doing the same project as my main rig (with the 1090T in there) is finishing the WU within a hour.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Thread sync maybe? Anything else running on it? Open a task manager and see what else is consuming CPU when the time jumps to 10 hours.

I have this problem every night where the little lady likes to Facebook and play words with friends. Then she leaves the window open and goes to bed. It ends up consuming 25%(100% of a core) after a few hours(iexplore... I keep telling her to use Chrome but I keep telling her to close the window before bed too! haha), and completely messes up folding until I wake up in the morning. To compound matters in throws off the GTX460 by not feeding it enough, and so its GPU usage bounces between 100 and 0 and drops to 2d clock as well.

Only other thing that comes to mind is a thermal cutback but I assume you would have mentioned high temps.

the ETA is exactly what is says it is.... an estimate

using your folding-PC while it is folding to do other things, will just prolong the time it takes to finish. the ETA assumes the rig will be left alone, to do its thing, without you disturbing it

NOTEoff topic) the programmers that write FLASH games for f***book, etc., do not really know how to program.

these games usually use ridiculous amounts of memory, cos the coders do not know how to memory manage correctly (leading to mem leaks). this is why they write in FLASH and not proper coding languages (C++, etc).

..and besides the company who gave you the game do not care about your PC, they only care about increasing revenues.

it does not matter what browser you use. the same game/app will have the show the same issues
