Epic Games Sues Fortnite Cheater over V-Bucks exploit

IMHO I don't think digital criminals should be allowed to get away with this kind of nonsense. No better than stealing a bunch of vouchers, showing others how to steal them and then walk back to the store to spend said vouchers.

Creating, selling and distributing cheats is a stupid thing to do. In this case, it is theft (Fortnite Battle Royale is free to play after all and relies on V-Bucks for revenue), and the sale of aimbots and other cheats ruins the game for other players and harms the playerbase, which again has a knock on effect for the developers due to decreased player retention.

I don't see this as big company suing the little guy; they knew what they were doing when they started poking the bear.

I think some people have a disconnect when it comes to reasoning about video games and digital commerce. They think since the company is not physically producing a product, it's ok to hack it. Maybe in their minds since the company has no physical merchandise being stolen, the people using this hack would have not spent real money on it anyway, they are not taking from them. Just opening up a new part of the game for themselves.
