It was November 2011 that I purchased my trusty X79 system. X79-UD5, 3930K, 16GB Corsair 1866MHz DDR3. While there are some fantastic pieces of kit around now (looking at you X99), with the persuasion of others, I've arrived at a decision not to change any of the core components out just yet. Instead I've achieved a solid 4.4GHz clock and will be sticking with it. The Titans however, are going to a new home. To possibly be replaced by, more Titans! These will be of the X variety however. The case is also going, while the 540 is a fantastic case, I think everything is getting a little tight inside there. So we're going big.

So far I have made a few basic purchases for the build:

Enthoo Primo
2 x 3TB Seagate HDDs
TPLink AC1750 Wireless Card

I need to decide on what I'm doing watercooling wise. The Enthoo Primo can fit a decent amount of rads in. I've only had my AlphaCool rads for about 18 months so it seems silly to get rid of them if they are capable. I currently have 2 x 240 rads and 1 x 360. They are all ST30s so single width.

Looking at the Enthoo Primo radiator support it can easily fit those in. But the question is, how do I do it, 360 at top, 240 bottom and front? Or do I scrap one 240 and instead get another 360, maybe a double thickness and stick it up top? Need input here.

Also need a hand on what people thing the best tubing/fluid would be. The previous white tubing seems to go a rather nasty beige after about 10 months which isn't too nice. I was thinking clear tubing and then some sort of coloured (blue? pastel white?) fluid.

Flex tubing I assume? Hardlne tubing doesn't suffer from discolouration the way flex tubing can in some cases. It's a lot harder to do but imo in the end the result is worth it. What colour scheme do you have in mind? Coloured coolant looks cool in clear waterblocks, otherwise you can do coloured tubing with clear coolant, don't know what blocks you have atm.

This is the current build (minus the 3rd 240 rad which now sits in the bottom)

I am going to be using the Raystorm CPU block and I will most likely end up with EK full blocks for the GPUs.

The motherboard is black/blue and while I have white braided cable extensions I don't have to re-use them if there is a better colour scheme. I just thought it look nice in white before and was toying with either white or blue tubing while keeping the white/blue hue on the NZXT HUE controller.

So I had a change of heart here. Original plan was dual Titan X in this thing but then I took a step back and figured it would mean me spending around £500 more than 980 Ti's. With a wedding to save for that didn't make sense to me. The current titans have been fine coping with the surround setup and I rarely play games that demand 6GB VRAM usage. Worst case scenario if it bottlenecks, I just turn it down a bit or switch to single screen (because I'm still fine gaming on a single 27" 1440p monitor).

I started taking bits apart at the weekend and starting to build it all back up again.

This is where I am so far:

Originally started with the thinner 360 rad at the bottom, but have now stuck it up top (with the double thickness one to be fitted push/pull at the bottom)

So I'm almost there now. Unfortunately I don't tend to take pics during the build for a few reasons: firstly, I always forget so that doesn't help, then the room I'm in has so little light all pictures tend to come out grainy and then also I just want to get on with it when I can!!

As I said before, I moved the thinner rad to the top

Rad was moved up top and started getting some tubing cut to size, stuck one GPU in to test sizes (the side bracket won't fit as the GPUs are too long)

Testing the loop started last night, am leaving it for 24 hours to see how well sealed it is

I had an issue with the loop in that the only part of the whole system which 'cares' which way the water flows is the CPU block. I had two choices, either leave it how it was at first, which would be the left port on the raystorm went into the GPUs, but that would mean the GPUs would then have to go into the furthest 'top' port of the res, which was extremely tight (as you can see, even using the nearer port it's a tightly angled fit). Or I could have done what I did, swap the cpu block hoses around and attach the front res connector to the GPU blocks.

Ultimately I think this has worked well this way because now it pumps up through the gpus and cpu first, then into the rads and back round, rather than pumping through the rads first. Just slightly less of a struggle as there's less 'upwards' pumping this way around. It just means the cpu block looks a little odd that way around, but I'm fine with that.

Will get pics of the rest and the back side tonight if I remember.
