So, who has it? And what do you think?

I got it on Tuesday but never touched it til Friday, and first impressions are not great, it feels a bit like Civ4 and Rome, so not overly impressed, but that might just be the Road to Independance campaign at the beginning. I sure hope so, as I have been looking forward to this game for years!

just started playing seems very complex and long winded...not bad so far....

The sea fighting looked very impressive, if not a tad annoying lol.

I'm probably picking things I don't like too much over good things atm. To be fair, I did that on all the releases since Shogun. Looking back tho, after a while of getting used to them I think differently.

Gonna take some getting used to.

will wait for patches etc to iron it out - apparently theres a near 1gb patch straight away to fix sound issues =/

Shogun was mind blowing for its time. Medieval was pretty good. Rome was alright. Haven't got round to Empire yet. I prefer the "Risk" side of it to the actual gameplay anyway. So hopefully it stacks up there.

After playing mulitplayer games mostly, the npc campaign side can get a bit boring. But the multiplayer battles own so much, and the sea battles which ppl slag off the most are so much fun against other humans rather than npcs.

once they patch it up and release the online campaign mode it will rock so much.

Having re-installed the game recently, and upd8d to all that is available (4 I believe now) the game does run for me with confidence.

Not only that, I'm actually getting surround soundage !! hehe

Erm I've had 1 naval battle to this point and it played properly afaic. No sim, although it is an option.

oo oo now that I prawn India, and am spreading from Eastern Europe, I've had to defend shipping lanes.

A bit of a tricky way to play a ship battle, but fair enough with the realism.

Only since I researched like a mofo whilst scaping the lands, I can build fleets of advanced ships

I hope it let's u continue playing past the goal cos I want woooorld domination !!!

Ugh, upto about turn... 60/70 ? and I believe my save has gone screwy.

Exact same thing used to happen in the other TotalWar(s). Gonna have to pick a previous one and hope it goes through ok >.<.
