those disconnects are still the ugliest ones i have ever seen. "not going in to the rest of the issues i have with the setup they went for"
but really i expect more aesthetics from EK.. i wouldn't have those things on my garden hose pipe.

EK - we spend endless hours in our lab developing this high end £200+ product, and our engineers came to agreement, that for Disconnects we will use Poundland garden hose plugs.

Those are the ugliest QDCs I have ever seen.

They should be metal for longevity.

They should have compression fittings on them for looks and neatness.

The ones in the video do drip if you look closely.

Even the very best QDCs like Koolance will drip a tiny amount when unplugging so care should be taken when working around electronics.

You can get these ones below in black too.

I couldn't agree with you more, the plastic looks so cheap, which is something that you should never be able to say about a water cooled PC.

More worrying is it could start leaking if the connectors are used a lot. Even with the metal ones the user needs to be careful not to damage the rubber O rings.

But what you have failed to realized is that these are the absolute BEST QDC's on the market, they are medical grade and the they drip 0 fluid. While not the best looking, they are as good as it gets. They are made by colder products, they are freaking expensive...

Look closely in the demo video in the OP and you will see that they do drip lol.

As to price I think you will find they are cheaper than the Koolance ones I posted pics of.

I also work for a company that makes stuff for medical use, the products are one use and throw away lol.

Just putting medical grade on something does not mean it is going to last a long time.:D

It's more the length of the hose that has me wondering. Of course if it's all upgradable and interchangeable then the colour of the disconnects or the amount of hose shouldn't be an issue - aside from the price.

The biggest thing will be making sure your case supports the extra thickness of the combined unit.

They do last a long time is the thing, It's not just that it's medical grade. They are fantastic products, I pay $19 USD a side for mine. I use them to disconnect the small rolling sink in my kitchen, I have had them for 4-5 years and they get used most days a week. I just use them so that I can move a prep table out into the middle of the floor near the oven so I can do my cooking. I get them at the local health care products place near my house. I ran through a few pairs of cheaper than the ones you posted koolance QDCs before I found these. I have four pair of these, one I'll use for my external res when I get that build done and the ones in the kitchen.
