EK has designed their own Custom Water cooling configurator

Nobody is forcing you to dislike it. If you are so in love with it, sleep with it!?

This is just so you can see how stupid you sounded. Frankly I couldn't care less what you do, and your suggestion of not using it was not a new concept, but thank you for trying to be helpful.

Just because you yet to encounter such scenario, do not assume that it only applies to me. I think I speak for more than a few users who, when choosing a new graphics card, base their decisions heavily upon the availability of water blocks. Why should I have to tell it what motherboard, RAM, and especially, chassis I have, and then go through the survey while it forcibly sticks radiators, pumps, reservoirs, and fans into my cart when I simply want to know about a water block for a graphics card?

Before you claim that you will never be in such situation, let me first say "Don't speak too soon!"

That's a very aggressive attitude, and you won't get very far here with that. I stand by what I wrote. You certainly won't receive any help from me on these forums acting like a spoiled child.

you don't have to use it, you can go right to their shop or go here for individual parts, wow! I know it's amazing what you can find in a few seconds

Yes, someone had pointed that out, and as I stated on the last post of page 2, I realized I was wrong about EK's intentions. The new configurator is a welcome addition. I'm sure eventually I will make good use of it!

I said what I said under a pretense. When it proved to be false, I had no problems admitting that I was wrong about EK's intentions. Aggressive as it may be, this is how annoyed I would get if they replaced the old configurator with the new one.

I water cool my computer for performance, to accomplish tasks as quickly as possible, so why wouldn't I be annoyed being slowed down by having to go through repeated steps I don't need? If you don't mind wasting time, then performance is probably not why you went water. I can respect whatever reason you choose water cooling, whether it be anesthetics, silence, or even displaying wealth, and hope you can realize and also respect the fact that there are still us dinosaurs whose reason for water cooling is one for which water cooling was originally intended.

As for not getting very far here, by voicing my displeasure, I was made aware that my preferred options had not been taken away and cleared my misunderstanding of EK. That's certainly further than if I had kept my mouth shut. My goal when engaging in discussions is not to prove I'm right, but to find out what is right.

Devastated as I am by your refusal to assist me, I'll just have to endure however long it takes to get over it while keeping my figures crossed that by then you can find it in your heart to forgive me. I can't wait for you to stop whining and dwelling on something that came about because of a misunderstanding, and then share the fascinating concept of water cooling without need for speed with me and other enquiring minds out there. Meanwhile I will do the next best thing and talk to Porsche owners who drive slower than Hyundais.

Darkhelmet, just drop it alright?... Like previously stated, you have basically posted a reply to a thread that has been dead since last year.

Saying your view/opinion on something is absolutely free and everyone's right. But, that also comes to a point when that tips over and becomes something else, which it has in this case.

I would just advice you to put it to rest and enjoy the forums. This "discussion" or whatever it is, won't go anywhere... In fact, all it will ever do is probably to just make everyone less happy to help you in the future, when you're in need of actual help.

Lastly, double posting isn't a very good idea. Use the
multiquote_off.gif
and
quote.gif
to qoute multiple posts in one reply. In other words, you then reply to several posts/people in a single post of yours. Rather than several, which isn't allowed and is/can be considered spamming.

Just a thought and tip for you. I'm out of this thread anyway.

Thanks for the tip; I didn't know it was bad etiquette on my part.

I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions, but it was the same configurator button I had clicked countless times before, so I automatically thought the old configurator was gone! I know my EQ is pretty low, but I have a hard time believing I'm the only one who would be annoyed if EK really did replace the old configurator with the new one.

As soon as I was alerted of my mistake, my opinion of the new configurator changed completely and now I have nothing but praises for EK. Why are some people still whining over what I feel was an honest mistake?

Because you seem to want to have the last word whatever it takes.

Please try and not reply to my post.

You all do realize this thread originally started in August of last year right? Was just necro'd..

Necro'd with hate. Post should have died with my previous post in this thread. Lets hope it dies again because I don't get this drama for something thats actually helpful for frequent modders who pick and choose cases constantly

Let me get this, you ask me not to reply, and I'm the one who wants to have the last word?
The thought of having the last word never crossed my mind, but please reply so I don't get my jollies. I promise you will not hear from me.

Necro'd or not - the configurator is great for working out how many fittings etc for a new build.

Only thing I would like to see is to support legacy hardware that is no longer in production, For example it won't allow a 980 SLi build as they don't make the blocks any more. Fair enough to a degree but there's still 2nd hand parts and they did support the 980s so they know how much thermal load etc when assessing radiator size etc.

I just selected 1080s or whatever current gen is out, and yes google is your friend but it would be great to get actual part numbers from EK for EOL products to use for amazon, fleabay etc.
