EA reveals Need for Speed Payback

Soooooo... basically Need for Speed - Fast and the Furious Edition. If they can give it the Burnout Paradise treatment, then it will be very interesting.

We've already had Need For Speed Most Burnout. Don't need another.

This looks like Frostbite, so hopefully resembles the last NFS as it was fantastic.

I didn't like any NFS since good old Most Wanted. I may give it a go if i like reviews, just for the sake of graphics.

Looks like the last one, which was stuffed with too many cutscenes and too much story. I just wanna race, I don't want to sit around waiting for your 30 minutes of cutscenes before being able to race. At least let us skip it or tab out!

If it has the same crash system that most of the others have had since Carbon then I am really not going to be that interested.

I play Need For Speed for Arcade racing and bouncing of objects, not to crash and have to reset the race because it puts you behind where you was, or your car is a right off at which point you cannot carry on.

Now I have the latest NFS game and that isn't to bad although I still need to start it on the pc which I will, do tomorrow and see what it's like on there properly as the console version to me was quite poor.

I think NFS would be way better if EA starts making it for the older audience. I always had the feeling it was made for 7-15 year old children.

NFS: Most Wanted 2005, to me, is still the best game in the franchise. If they could do a modern day equivalent then they'd be onto a winner.

I feel like the whole PC market is made for 7-15yr olds. Just look at ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte boards, Corsair, etc with their pathetic RGB products

Thats exactly my point. It had no story.

It did. Brooke Burke was a part of it, you just skipped it and got on with the game.

The latest Need For Speed *is* Underground 3. If you haven't played it on a decent PC I suggest you pick it up as it's more than worthy of the £15 CDKEYs are charging for it atm. It's a fantastic game, easily the most beautiful racer I've played. Mechanics are good too, and with a decent GPU it's not hard to max it out and get 60 FPS.

There are one or two videos you have to watch early in the game, then you can just skip it and get on with the racing/drifting/drag etc. There are one or two things I don't like about it, but it's more than worthy of a purchase. Fantastic fun.

My fave NFS of all time? hmm that's a tough one. It would either be the original "Road and Track Presents" with the cocky companion and the full manual everything, or it would be the Underground series/the latest one.

Others have been marred by the police and the stupid AI, spending an hour trying to lose the police etc but at least in the new one it's very easy to lose them and contact can be brought down to almost nothing if you keep your eyes open and don't drag them in.

I quite liked "The run" but sadly it was very short.

Didn't see any point in the burnout one (MW) because we already had Burnout Paradise.

I remember playing the original version on a friends 3DO. Amazing graphics and gameplay for the time. I got it on Playstation and absolutely loved it. Since then I've had Hot Pursuit but most of the drifty street racing style games don't really do it for me. They're not bad... they're just not my cup of tea.

Now Road Rash was a fun game. Nitro boosted Superbikes in traffic with nunchucks.
