EA Reportedly Cancels Star Wars Open World Game

A few things need to happen -

1. The Star Wars license needs to be taken off EA.

2. EA needs to be shut down and all CEO's, Execs, Fat cats etc... need to be put in a floating prison out in the middle of the Pacific ocean and then sunk as a warning to any other scumbags.

3. The Star Wars IP needs to be taken off Disney as they are ruining it.

4. An independent publisher/studio needs to be created that is staffed and run exclusively by passionate Star Wars nerds and the rights of all Star Wars games given to them with a clause stating if any game is monetized in anyway other than the initial fee of the game all employees will face a 100 Million dollar fine each, No microtransations, Only full on paid expansion packs that must be at the very least half the size of the original game, The only multiplayer allowed is online co-op and local co-op.

Right now EA and Disney are ruining Star Wars, The movies have way too much social politics mixed in and the games are just pathetic cash grabs.

Disney is doing fine. Rebels turned out pretty good after the first season and they are bringing back Clone Wars. Some of the books are also pretty good (the 1st new Thrawn book and Bloodline especially).

I'm, fine with Episode 8, though that doesn't mean that I wouldn't change a lot of it if given the option.

Game-wise, Disney needed to get EA to focus on single-player games from the start, something that could add to the Star Wars universe a little. Multi-player games don't impress me as a star wars fan. I played Battlefront II's single player and that's it. The Multiplayer is of no interest to me long-term.

This game has been started and stopped so many times I lost count

As for Disney, no they are not doing fine. Greedy a holes. The new Vader fan film by Star Wars Theory which he funded entirely himself to avoid legal issues, got claimed by White Chapel and now they are making money off his own work. All this after telling him he could do it if he paid for it himself.
They are mad because he made a better story with $100k than they could with $100 million

Have to disagree, Disney has ruined Star Wars, They have allowed way too much modern social and racial politics to be injected by the directors, Writers and producers, Even Kathleen Kennedy blamed all "white men" for Solo not being a HUGE success because it was kind of bland and also said she doesn't have to cater to men, Not forgetting to mention the plethora of press people complaining that Lucasfilm, Owned by Disney, Has "Too many white people employed" which in itself is an utterly disgusting thing to say, The Star Wars movie IP is being ruined by racial and social politics which in turn is ruining any chance of future films actually being good.

Ironic how a universe about political and social issues that has many parallels, symbolism, and methaphoric meanings, to modern society is being hated against because of the same meanings in today's world lol

Even though it's true, they have ruined SW. To declare everything pre dating the Disney purchase, non-cannon, is absurd. They basically erased over 1000 books and stories non cannon because they can. Kinda funny how you can draw a parallel to the Sith erasing the Jedi order in RotS and burning the entire Jedi Library/Archive to the ground. Makes you wonder who the real sith is...

From my own life experience the Sith are real, They just go by different names i.e Liberals, SJW's etc... "what we don't like we will destroy".

I agree. Now if someone in the US was willing to run for POTUS on this platform that would be great.

Lol, then you're not really getting who the bad guys in Star Wars tend to represent. It's kinda so blatantly obvious that even those people know and often criticize and hate Star Wars for that. I don't know why anyone thinks that it's a new development and that somehow Star Wars has changed. The same thing happened back in the days of the original trilogy. Star Wars was criticized by the same sociopolitical group for largely the same reasons.

No I understand quite well but the films have been ruined by identity politics and cash grabs, I don't care that there's a female lead, I don't care that there's an African guy as the secondary role, I care about the story and the quality and both are utter tripe and then for some reason tacky humour needs to be put into the films every few minutes, It makes it seem so cheap.

Difference was those first six movies were great.

The new ones are awful with weak characters and bad plot development.

Yep, I even quite like the prequels, The new ones are hollow, No soul.

Star Wars has been a cash grab since The Empire Strikes Back. But at least the original trilogy was actually good. As for identity politics in new Star Wars movies, I think you're seeing what you want to see. The Last Jedi was just another terrible movie with a moronic plot ruined by no one other than Rian Johnson. They gave that guy complete freedom to do what he wanted and that was his best. There was nothing really wrong with The Force Awakens other than the fact that it was A New Hope all over again. Which I didn't mind at all. In fact, I'm kinda glad that Abrams is directing the next one, especially after The Last Jedi.

Not really, When the new films were being marketed one of the selling points that people would constantly bring up was "diversity" which is such a pointless selling point, Put good actors in regardless of race and leave it at that, Virtue signalling "Look at us we have diversity aren't we amazing" is just pure cringe, Hire an actual alien for all I care as long as they can act but don't make race the focus.

Are you claiming Disney is NOT putting in identity politics and whatnot? You'd be crazy lol
It's a company founded on princesses and not needing a male figure..
Besides that by making the new Captain Marvel more powerful than Thor because, well female lead, is just another example. If you didn't know Thor would defeat Captain Marvel in the comcis even if she was in her ultimate form, binary form. Bothers the F out of me. Thor being my favorite character being less powerful than a woman because Disney wanted it that way. If she was more powerful in the comcis I wouldn't even care (there are a few woman more powerful than him after all)

Disney is not fine. The reason why they choose EA is because EA are the only ones willing to pay the overpriced licensing.

Disney has become so greedy now. They ruined star wars. The Last star wars movie was absolutely terrible. I put it just slightly above episodes i,II,II. They have flooded the movie industry with Marvel movies since 2009 aquisition of marvel and its just tiring now. So much political correctness being injected into the movies now it is crazy.

RATM made a good lyrical connotation.

"What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin'
They don't gotta burn tha books, they just remove 'em"

Feels like that is what is happening today.

This attitude people have with blaming Disney for Star Wars is silly to me. Disney is no more culpable than the actual creator of Star Wars was in 1999, 2002, and 2005. The directors, producers, actors, casting, SFX team, they're all to blame if you don't like a film—which incidentally is entirely subjective. It's not just the main head honchos at Disney.

What's also absurd is, many of the same people shouting for Disney to relinquish Star Wars to someone else (who exactly, no one knows) are shouting for Fox and Sony to relinquish Marvel properties back to Marvel, a Disney-owned company! Why did The Amazing Spider-Man fail? It wasn't just the elusive 'phat cats' at the top of the food chain. Blaming them is little more than a scapegoat for those who don't understand the film industry and how it works. It was the film makers AND the 'suits'.

No one wanted Fox to give up X-Men back in 2003 when X2 came out because Marvel was pretty much bust and the film was excellent. But when Apocalypse came out in 2016, 'Give X-Men back to Marvel' was chanted everywhere even though Marvel have made some terrible business decisions, have made some real dullards (The Dark World, Iron Man 2), and are owned by the company everyone loves to hate.

The masses didn't blame Paramount for Indiana Jones 4. They blamed the writer, an excellent writer, and the director, an excellent director. So why does everyone blame Disney? Because they have a face—quite literally—like Spielberg has a face. Paramount has no face. To me, pointing the finger at Disney and saying, 'Look at those greedy phat cats'! is the lazy approach. The solution for a lot of people is, if you don't know any better and don't know why you're angry, just point your finger at the richest person and say, 'GREED!'

I think it's safe to say that something needs to change.

First of all, they're just movies that are mostly for kids. And second, what political correctness? Pretty much everyone loves Thanos and he is a genocidal maniac. In general, people tend to like monstrous villains with authoritarian tendencies a lot more than heroes.

Once again, people see only that which they want to see and they will cherry pick the crap out of something to sustain their delusions.

I find it insane that people are actually mad about diversity in comic book movies and movies set in a different galaxy filled with countless species. What the actual f**k do you expect?
