Hey guys

I turned my pc off last night, and when I turned it back on it got to the sign in screen on windows and froze, when I restarted, it wouldn't detect the ssd with the os on it, have cleared CMOS etc still no luck, even tried a different cable and nothing. I have tried installing a normal hdd in, but when I try to reinstall windows it says it is unable to

I have no idea what has happened, as I only turn pc off last night everything was fine then, I dunno if this is a motherboard issue, as maybe the sata ports are buggered, any help would be grately appreciated

Thanks hay

Have tried another sata port still nothing, when I try to load it onto another drive says it's unable to

Have no ideas now

I have no other pc to connect it to, everytime I went into the bios with it connected, it took ages to bring bios up, and it wouldn't detect any hdd.

When I connected one of my sammy storage drives it lOaded quicker (bios) and it was detected, I have now put windows on one of my old sammys, seems to be ok ATM

I don't understand how just turning it off for the night killed my ssd

I have installed windows on a normal HDD atm until I can afford another SSD...... So I guess its not a motherboard issue, SORRY admin I posted in wrong place....

how old is the ssd ? only reason i ask because if its less than 6 years old you might still be able to get it swapped by using the sales of goods act because it was not fit for purpose , when something goes wrong before 6 months its up to the seller to prove it was fit for purpose but after that it is up to you to prove it was not fit for purpose but also there is a reasonable amount of time that things can be classed as fit for purpose i.e you can not buy a toothbrush and say it has worn out after 2 years so it was not fit for purpose because it has done it job for a reasonable amount of time but a ssd drive that costs a pretty penny should last more than say 5 years but we all no it should last a lot longer and all you need to say is you was using it for the purpose it was intended and it could not do its purpose most good retailers will offer to swap it for you and send it back them selves to the manufacture its worth a shot
