Dual PSUs and PCI-E GPUs: It works.

Bought an el cheapo PSU from the bay and hooked it up to me trusty Tagan:

So my primary PSU is powering....the mobo and CPU

My 2nd PSU is powering my opticals, HDDs, fans, pump and PCI-E plug. Might move some stuff back over to the primary.

Still to try 3D benching, but I expect no issues. The quality of the 2nd PSU is my only doubt, and thats not a problem for other users.

If anyone has any info/input on this or warnings that i`m sailing into trouble with PCI-E plug power regulation strain, please speak up.

This is only suitable for GPUs with their own onboard voltage regulation.

Please provisionally ignore this...

My 2nd PSU stopped..I think it took the HDDs with it. I`m not sure why, but please dont try this, just in case

yea, was thinking that. PSU is very dead now I reckon, tho the disks are ok. Tried adding power resistors across the 5V and 3.3V rails, as well as CCFLs for the 12, but PSU died, or was already dead. All I get is a 5VSB signal, and a quick blast from the fan

More tests have me thinking I aint suffering from not enough power, but i`m scouting for an uber cheap but not totally rubbish PSU to try again. I WILL get this working!
