Dual monitor stand

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a monitor stand can support a 34" curved monitor at the bottom and have a second 24" at the top, over it.

If it has a discrete base or a desk clamp, doesn't really matter. But base is preferable.

A base in the lines of Ergotech WSGF Edition Monitor Stand.

Thanks

TBH you might have to go a clamp cause your using 2 different sizes and i don't even know you could get something like that unless you have the money

I did find one Aavara DS210 Dual 24-34 Inch Monitor Stand

The Aavara DS210 is a Dual LED/LCD Monitor stand, featuring a wide angle of +/- 15 degree tilt, +/- 15 degree swivel and a 360 degree rotation. It supports VESA 200x100mm, 100x100 and 75x75mm displays and ExperTorque technology enables adjustment of the screens hinged by its weight. The smart cable management system keeps messy cables in good order while two independent arms provide the perfect amount of adjustment for all home and office setups.

Features:
Designed for Dual LED/LCD displays from 24 to 34 inches
Tilt and swivel angle +/- 15 degrees
Smart Cable Management System to align messy cables
ExperTorque design for easy adjustment hinged by monitor weight
VESA Compatible: 200x100mm / 100x100mm / 75x75mm
360 degree rotation

I've got one (pretty cheap) that is designed for 24s. I'm pretty certain it has room to go to a 27 in height on the bottom which I believe is about the same height as a 34" ultra wide. Give me your dimensions and i'll get my trusty measure out. Of course weight could be a factor but happy to measure it.

I reckon I've got about ten cm of height to play with on the bottom part of the stand.

Thanks for the tip and recommendation. I shall look it up later... Unless you might have a link?

Awesome dude! I've actually seen yours before, but didn't remember it was yours.

I don't have the 34" just yet, only a 27" Swift and a 24". But I'm planning on getting one down the line, but want to start "planning" now... Specially for a stand.

I do like the clean and easy look of yours, it looks basic and not "advanced". Specially like the low profile base :)

Although, what do you mean by measurements and weights etc?... Specially since I don't have a 34" yet.

Yeah the stand is not too complicated as it doesn't have the side mounts for surround (my side monitors are cheap and don't have Vesa mounts) but if you want to have one over the top then this is a good way to go. It also makes it a lot cheaper :)

The 'weight may be a factor' means that the mounting hinge may only hold a certain amount of weight before it could be unstable. 34" will be a bit heavier than a standard 27, especially if it's curved I imagine.

Overall with the 34 on the bottom it should have a lower centre of gravity. Depends how far the weight of the monitor extends forwards over the feet of the stand. You don't want it tipping over.

If you are looking at a specific 34" model let me know and I'll look it up.
I need to see:

  • what the height is (Screen from Top to Bottom) to make sure it will fit between the base of the stand and the bottom bezel of the top monitor
  • the distance from the mounting holes to the top and the bottom of the screen to see whether I have enough adjustment to make it fit without either becoming unstable or squished right up against eachother
  • The weight of the proposed monitor.
If you have a 27" now then they should be a similar height to the 34". I only run 24s

I know the guys at WSGF have a custom stand for a heap of different monitor setups but they're a few hundred dollars ($US). The quality looks epic though they're properly engineered.

I'll google the Swifts specs and let you know how that one would fit when I'm home later.

Edit - Just found the Acer X34341CK specs. The weight (10kg) is 2kg over the limit for my stand (the limit may be conservative) but overall the dimensions would fit.

I'd recommend going up a level in quality to something like the Atdec Visidec VFS-DV Freestanding Vertical LCD Dual Monitor Stand - http://www.atdec.com.au/visidec-vfs-dv
I'm sure there would be a European retailer or site for them mine just defaults to Aus.
These ones are certified for 27" monitors height, unlimited width and up to 12kg per display.

IF you're dropping the equivalent of $1300 AUD on a display then $250 for a stand is pretty good. Mine was bargain basement $70 but I'd hate to see you damage something.
