Dothan + fridge....

... equals.... A rather nippy CPU! Dothan at 2.8ghz was pretty quick, but these chips LOVE winter climates. So, strap a Gray Mole modded Mach1 to a Dothan and what happens, well the CPU gets a bit chilly (-37 to be exact) and begins to giggle with glee.

Once his toes are covered with frost, the real monster within is unleashed. Down and -35 deg (real CPU temp) with a healthy 1.65v up its rear the Dottie 750 managed a healthy 3.25ghz running on a 13* multiplier and 250FSB.

With this extra CPU speed, and another Gray Mole special on the GPU the 6800LE (modded to 16 pipes) has smashed the previous 01 WR by 1300 points, first LE to break 34 and 35k, settling for now at 35051

It's not an awsome CPU, but 3.25 ghz isnt bad, a little more time and 3.3 should be do-able, with a more favourable FSB too.

Superpi ain't bad either ;)

Clocks are a modest 480/987. Need to push her a bit further ;)

congrats! Just how many GPUs do you have??!? :O

6800LE under phase, bottom card is 9600SE from comp, other 2 are a 4800 and 4200 theres a 9500 kicking about somewhere. All pretty low end cards really. Much more fun than breaking the 7900GT tho :P

Cheers for the kind words guys, compared to some peoples achievements these are a drop in the ocean. More personal targets than anything else, 35k 01 w/ 6800 was one, and still want 22 secs Pi.

Big thanks to Gray for sorting the cooling too, did a great job on the Mach1. Temps its holding are pretty nice for an "old" unit... Think she'll be heading your way for some special treatment soon mate, get her hooked up with a Chilly head ;)

Was also thinking earlier how interesting its been to see the speed increase with various cooling though, 2.65 benchable stock air, 2.85 under water and now 3.25 under phase.. Maybe 3.4 will fall under DICE/LN2??

The Asus Ct-479 adaptor option allows for better mounting options and higher clock speeds.

The main advantage of the Aopen board is the use of PCI-e graphics cards :)

Indeed, have a P4GD1 for PCI-e benchies, though they arent as hot on the 2d side of things.

P4C800 is about as fast as you'll get 2d wise, wouldnt mind seeing results from the Apoen if anyones got a rig running

Nah, I've boxed it all up :(

I need to get everything cleared up for the end of uni. All this computer gear is never going to fit in my car! 8)

Ah :( sucks eh! Rather than selling stuff, why not just get a van?

Bah! Don't go giving me ideas! No doubt that I'll be back with some mean gear in the near future...
