Does ASUS' X370 Crosshair VI Hero support AM3+ CPU coolers?

Where the multi was all but useless and the best way to clock was via the FSB.

And yeah, what NBD says also. You were going blind and had to literally learn the thermal limit of the CPU yourself.

See that's strange. My FX-6300 is Vishera but I don't think I have any room to mess with the FSB. I assume it will increase the Northbridge temp and the nb heatsink is already hot enough to burn/be uncomfortable to touch.

Which board are you using? you need a very good one.

I'm using the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Rev. 3 (no heatpipes like on the UD5/7) but honestly the heat from the NB heatsink is disgusting. No real way of directing air over it either.

It doesn't matter really since it's served me fine for over 4 years sitting at 4.2Ghz and I'm hoping to build a new complete system this year. I was just curious when you mentioned Vishera for obvious reasons.
