Do 5770 in crossfire have to exactly the same card?

I'm getting a new card on Monday from MSI and was thinking of picking up another one from ebay, might not be an MSI card though.

No they dont,hell you can use any 5k series card for crossfire,but it makes the most sense to use another 5770.

what are you talking about? you cant crossfire two cards unless they are the same model. different manufacturer is fine but you cant crossfire a 5870 with a 5770 for example

You can crossfire different 5XXX series cards but they have to be the same series eg 57xx or 58xx so you could CF a 5750 and a 5770 but you can't CF it with a 58XX it has to be with another 57XX.

I don't think you can CF a 5870 with anything less though, it has to be with another 5870. I might be getting that mixed up with the 5970 though.

I know I was was just replying to the post above mine but forgot to quote it.

Yes, you can mix brands, but if one is faster than the other it will be down clocked to the speed of the slower one, unless you overclock the slower one to match the faster one, or vice versa.

I got that slightly wrong,I should not post when I have been drinking,lol.A 5750 will go with a 5770,and any 58 will work with a 59.
