Display driver stopped responding

CPU: PII x2 550BE @ x4 B50 3.4ghz
Motherboard: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
PSU: Arctic Cooling 550R
RAM: 6GB DDR3 1333 (1x4, 1x2)
GPU: XFX Radeon 489X ZSFC


Well, GPU works as it should, BUT when I OC it for 5MHz or more I get display driver error. GPU isn't overheating, it's peaking at 54C. It happens in BF3 but I haven't tried any other games for now. I'm wondering is there any way to stop that or is my card just rubbish for OCing.

Say if you need any dump files because I'm new to these kinds of malfunctions.
 
Its because youve overclocked it too much LOL

You can just start turning stuff up when you dont know what you are doing.

You didnt mention voltages or anything and some 4890's were shit overclockers anyways.
 
Stock voltages.
I know they can be shit overclockers. It does sound silly when you can't OC for such a little marging on stock voltages.
I should be getting new GPU soon anyways, and was trying to see how far can I push this one.
