To cover the billions in losses from mass cancellations after their genius move to cancel Kimmel.

That's 1 very small part of it, Kimmel was losing viewer numbers anyway so not such a big business loss, But mainly the hundreds of millions they've been losing from people not paying to watch their recent movies and shows due to them being flat out crap.

No doubt it spurred on the decision to raise prices but Kimmel was a tiny sliver of Disneys income.

While his show doesn't earn enough money for Disney to care, the backlash certainly caused enough damage for them to start caring. There's a reason they felt that they needed to bring him back on.

I genuinely think they did not care about Kimmel and these two things are unrelated. They have raised prices every year. Far enough out from holiday season people forget they raised them so the upcoming "deals" are just regular pricing from before.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. A lot of people have cancelled their Disney+ subscription because of Kimmel cancellation. Those people aren't necessarily viewers of Kimmel. People simply wanted to punish Disney for caving to Trump's demands. They lost billions overnight.

I recently saw a video and if your Disney and other subscriptions show on your iPhone, apparently you can change your plan back to a cheaper one if they increase the prices as apparently they leave the older priced plans on the iPhone Subscriptions page.

Worth checking for those who pay them.

My family tends to only keep one streaming service going at a time. Went to cancel Disney+ the other day, and they offered me three months for £2.99 each month. So will keep it on for that time. Wife has a few shows she wants to watch. My wee girl also likes Bluey.

Audible is similar. I tend to sub when they offer 99p for four months offer every once in a while. When you try to quit, they offer another month/credit. Easy way to get another cheap audiobook. Quit immediately after.

You tend to get better deals when you aren't a loyal subscriber. Same with broadband.
