DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. ") GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780", Driver:33489

Hey guys, so I'm getting the above message and crashing sometimes when playing BF4. I have recently overclocked my GTX 780 but it ran through haven and 3dMark just fine with no artifacts so would I be right in assuming that this is more likely a game/driver problem than an overclock issue?

BF4 did just apply a small patch yesterday

BF3/4 is weird with overclocked GPU's. Had my gtx460 overclocked and passed every stability test and run just fine in any other graphically demanding game but BF3 would still crash.
That error seems to be due to BF4 rather than your setup. Try disabling Ambient Occlusion in-game and/or run borderless windowed and/or try running stock clocks for a while to see if it still happens.

i'll have a look. Cheers dude. Admittedly i've overclocked it pretty well (I think) and I am pushing the game by putting the resolution scale up to 130% on ultra settings :p
