Differences between geek, nerd and dork etc.

I am confused mainly between geek and nerd

anyone care to enlighten me?

I always saw Nerd as being either a geek which has no social life or a sweet called Nerdz!

And Dork... mmm seems to be slang for pen - is.

Geek is from my POV a person interested in "geeky" things such as computers but still has a firm grip of reality.

Nerd - heavily academic, at the price of anything social. Cept ofc other nerds. Poindexter is the classic.

Geek - engineering with a passion, something others may secretly want to know about on a lesser level. Usually in less detail.

Dork - a state of being completely opposite to "kewl".

Go into PC world, ask about a pc like you know nothing at all about PC's. Then slowly watch the sales assistant crumble when you bring your wealth of PC knowledge into the conversation asking more and more complex questions until finally you are telling him about the PC or he goes red, wets himself and calls for the manager (who equally knows little about PC hardware), then do the same to him again.

Passes the time while the missus is in Next and girly shops.

I actually done that a lot.

Whenever I go out for a stroll, I always head into PC world and do exactly that...

hahahahaha As it happens i was in pc world today asking for a 1tb hard drive and when this guy offerd me a low end one and then i spouted out "Dont take the P***" im after a decent one. Then after looking round i found that's all they had so it was there version of a decent one ........... Then i asked about SSD's and the poor fella just looked at me as though i had come from another planet .......

Needless to say i just headed over to the bargain bin and dove my head in it for half an hour .... while my kids harassed another sales guy about the latest games knowing i wont get them any thing lol as i was skint .....

and guess what My lass was in next as well hahahahahaha .........
