Dielectric Grease=silicone Grease?

Can someone tell me if silicone grease will work for PCB and socket? Also, if anyone on the forums is from germany please tell me where I can get some dielectric grease. I tried A.T.U but nothing says dielectric grease and I'm not going to take a guess. THANKS!!

yup, silicone grease is normally just the same as dielectric. Some kinds can eat into some plastics but if ya test it on an "unimportant" part of the mobo you should be ok. If its sold in Germany, try and find Dow Corning dielectric or 3M, they make good stuff

i only use vapo grease for the socket as it can be removed easy with contact cleaner

and servisol for the sealing, contact cleaner also remove this and is sold at maplins
