I gave a levono G580 and some coffee has fell on the number pad side of the keyboard and now the buttons is a bit stiff. What do I do?

No money for repairs sounds easy enough. Well my repair sound so. Two screws on the underside labled keyboard. Can i unscrew them and will the keyboard be accessible or do i unscrew everything? Any help will be highly appreciated

Go to the lenovo support website. They have detailed support manuals for all Notebooks. If you are carefull removing a notebook keyboard should be no problem.

Okay thanks but is used a white and vinegar solution and spray it over, much smoother now. If it stuck up again ill look to remove and clean it

The buttons is again stiff this morning. Once I remove the keyboard can i clean it with a damp cloth because the coffee makes it sticky

clean it with alcohol and let it evaporate before re installing the keyboards, it takes like a minute or so.

Will first try plain water since it is just coffee. If it doesn't help ill use alcohol. Thanks

water is conductive and takes much more time to evaporate, also if it had sugar in it, water wont clean it as well unless you soak it with water, which is the last thing you would want to do

What you have got to remember is the coffee would of gone underneath the keys, and no amount of spraying whatever solution, whether it be water, IPA etc will clean it properly unless it can reach underneath the keys where the little support / mechanical struts for the keys are, and that is where you need to be able to reach with your chosen cleaning solution.

Hold keyboard upside down when spraying the solution onto it, so as the spray stands a chance of getting to the places it needs to.

The other option is to pop the keys off, but the type of keys laptops tend to have, are very awkward if you not use to it, to get to fit back properly and won't sit correctly.

Thank you. At least I didn't start yet. Will use a 70% alcohol and follow your instructions.
When spraying it do i leave it upside down or do I need to blow dry it or leave it so?

I'd be careful removing the keyboard mate, sometimes the ribbon cable isn't very long to be able to plug back in, just do as above, and just let the IPA, evaporate, there is no need to blow dry, it evaporates in seconds.

(Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any damage you cause :p)

Do you mean on the touch pad? If so Synaptic touch pads do not come apart very well and it means you'll have to strip the laptop to get at it.
