With the way the zif socket is on the new dfi lanparty ut nf4 sli-dr expert, can I still use my mach II ?

Thank you.

Anthony

The DFI board is the overclockers weapon of choice - I had the same concerns as you before I made the leap - I can assure you that it fits fine, sure the hose looks a little more curvy but so long as your careful how you position the cooling tube - it fits and works a treat.

Mav,

Where did u get ur Expert mobo from and have you got a piccie of the evap hose on the socket? Thanks:D Most of the US sites I have seen don't seem to have the Expert mobo in stock and don't supply the UK?

I see you spotted my deliberate mistake!! ;)

No mine is fitted to SLI-DR not the EXPERT unit - although I really really want one - can't find it anywhere - anyone who can help PM me DO NOT POST INFORMATION HERE.

Also - I have seen the piccies and position looks easy enough to fit - proba a better fit for the mach than the current offering.

Cheers

Nooooooo I thought you'd found a good source - I was busy trawling the US sites trying to find it in stock after I read ur post - 5 minutes of excitement:p

Yup having the cpu socket so low on the DFI SLI and Ultra-D mobos does mean the evap hose is bent over quite a bit but as you say works fine. The only problem was that the hose stuck so far out of the case I had no chance of putting a side panel on. Not an issue for me since I don't have it on most of the time anyhow ...

Thanks mate, have emailed them to see if they will ship to the UK. The list of countries they ship to on the website does not include the UK but maybe by phone or email they will agree.

I'm pretty sure that's not competition as they're american and sell components.

From what i have read on XS, that store is talking BS about their stock, their tactics seem to be to say they have stock before everyone else so that they get all the orders, then they make up excuses like a faulty batch of boards etc and delay it until they ship it at the same time as everyone else

I've heard that too but apparently they get them on Friday.

Well I live in Poland (If you don't know it is in Europe) And the boards are availible. But because of all this Cpu killing stories they're not selling to good...

Posting of competitor shops is not allowed on this site.

I think they are only available in the states and they are having loads of problems - I'd give em a wide berth until its all sorted.

It's unkown what the root cause is right now - CPU's that have bit the dust include FX57, X2 4800 and various others, I think PSU's have gone too. My gut feeling is that its the new power distribution network (4 pahse apparently??) that they have employed does not mix with certain PSU's but again I can't confirm that

This has been achieved by 'average Joe's and some of the most experienced clockers out there so I doubt if its a lack of knowledge (but can't rule it out either).

The fact that NF4 EXPERT series are only available in the States, coupled with these horror stories leads me to advise a wide berth until we here exactly what the root cause is and what corrective measures are required to prevent it from happening (could just be a BIOS update)

I am sure it's all just teething problems - but until they are rectified or sold locally - steer clear.

The Crossfire board I can only tell what I have read - things blowing up = very bad.

For Example (These Are Polish Shops but You'll understand Product name ;))

http://www.pcprojekt.pl/?p=katalog_produktow&id_gl=1

I'm posting it only because i don't think that these shops could be any competition for extremeprometeia.com especially because of location ;). I only wanna prove that theyre availble and yesterday i had one of these in my hands.

Interesting that they haven't released them here then. The conclusion that this draws me to, is that they are only testing the boards on the Americans and Polish, before they release the good revised ones over here :p
