Hi guys , just a short one am up and running with the DFI mobo, and have just a few questions for you, well its at 2.9GHz and that was no real problem it looks like the memory dividers are a bit buged, 166 divider no problem but go any lower and no boot, so i could be my memory or a buged bios for the dividers?

This motherboard runs a bit hoter than i am used to can you tell me if this is right, the temps are with no load: CPU 24c, PWMIC 29c, CHIPSET 40c,

the volts look ok but there is one that is in red which is the LDT Bus of which is at 1.47v all outhers look ok and are in white.

Just got to wait for my outher video card to come back from RMA which should be this week or next, then i will start some benches again to see where it gets me and the team.

The Opterons I`ve had arent massively keen on non-standard dividers. Will the setup not play even with a 133 divider?

:)

No mate just wont boot into windows just hangs at anything bellow 166 cant understand this is the chip as the memory can do 265MHZ so if i am runing a clock of 330FSB and set to 150 then it should be around the 250MHZ mark for the memory, even if i set at 200fsb it will not boot with a memory divider below 166MHZ.

anyway my water pump has just packed up so i must be MR unlucky at the moment so back to the old pc again while i RMA the pump. but if anyones got any answers then please post.

This wont be the answer to your problem, but I found when I was fishing for the best mix of HTT and RAM divider that its really not exact- the RAM speed is an integer division of the CPU speed, and no matter what ya set the divider to, the board decides what integer value of divion thats closest to. (DFI Ultra-D) I was consistently getting up to 20MHz less on the RAM than what I expected.

As for clocking in windows...I dont know what the board does then. Its possible that theres some slack on either side of each division number for tweaking, not sure what happens when the line is crossed... ie a RAM divion of 13 would be better than 14 etc.

Back to the problem.. LOL err....how many of your RAM timings are set in BIOS, and how many are set to auto? A lot of parameters need to change depending on RAM speed, and if one or 2 arent right for the RAM speed...nothing happens

Thanks for the info K404, will look into it more, cant do anything at the moment though as i am back on air which sound like a rocket going of, wont be able to spend all day next to this thing its giving me a headache with the noise.

have contacted asetek and just waiting for an RMA to come though so i can send the water pump back for exchange.

So i am only at 2.2GHZ at the mo with 1.26v, temp 22c boy its hot with air, i want my watercooling pump now asetek.

well got some OCZ coming next week so this should help as the balistix just dont cut it with this motherboard, also got email saying video card should be back with me somtime next week, just got to wait for the rma to come though from asetek so i can get my water pump replaced, then i start benching.

am starting to get used to the coms settings on this mobo, they are a bit diferant to what i have been used to but if anyones got info they would like to share regarding what is the best settings for my setup then please post, as all information is allways a good thing to have.

well guys i thought i would have a play on the new motherboard, but like i said i am on air at the moment so am not going to push it to hard, but i am well pleased with this OC so far and like i said i am on air and no load at the moment.

I have posted a pic of the overclock so please comment to this please and give me some feedback.
