Destiny 2 cheat sellers forced to pay Bungie $4.3 million following lawsuit

This is a good thing for sure. I got sick of the cheaters in crucible so much that I stopped playing the game.

I used to enjoy PvP in D2 and got to be decent, Not great but decent, But there was a wave of cheaters that would down entire teams within literally 1 second from across the map behind walls and it happened a lot.

To bad it's not stopped the cheating, neither has the inclusion of Battleye.

The cheaters are coming back in waves just like before, but this time the cheats are more "Powerful" it's honestly ridiculous that no one has managed to find a way to stop this sort of thing, without going down the route of consoles, which would stop 99% of it.

Biggest problem I have is people abusing VPN's, I am constantly when playing PVP in D2 fighting against people who I should not be matching with, but thanks to those VPN's I am matching them all the time.

It's one thing that I loved about running COD Servers was the ability to put a max ping in, if your ping was over 60ms you were not joining the server.

Consoles are rife with cheaters using Lag switches. Its an "almost" impossible method to stop, although Sony did come up with a solution, that impacts genuine players too.
Worst part is that you can make a lag switch from just a few dollars/pounds along with tutorials on how to make them on YT. Just destroys a good gaming atmosphere...

The problem is that so many people think that "consoles have almost zero cheaters", yet its actually full of them, you just dont consider it because of the way they actually dupe the servers.

I wished they'd locked PvP (especially the competitive modes) behind a paywall. Think it would have made a big difference.

That would probably not help much. If you think about these cheaters, they are a win at all cost, so if they can waste money on these cheat programs, they will drop money into the pvp side of things where they probably focus all their game time.

It would also be a big negative outcry from people who already pay £60 for what we often call an incomplete game.

I mean it was tied into the Season Pass for example (but only competitive modes, Trials, Iron Banner etc).

I would have thought it would help as they'd have to repurchase the Season Pass every time they start a new account would would hopefully deter them.

Also, people who would buy the Season Pass would not be affected as they would have already paid for it.

I know it's subjective, however, I'd rather pay a bit more to improve my gaming experience.

This. Cheaters just don't care. Their whole mentality is winning by cheating, and they don't feel bad about it. So trying to stop them will not happen unless you can stop them with hack detection which doesn't work.

You can't explain things to these sort of people. They are the same kind that would cheat at a board game, then be happy they won, completely not realising they didn't win they cheated.

We lost a game of PUBG recently. There were 4 of us left V 1 guy. It was so blatant that it was literally unbelievable. First he disappeared into metal crates that you can't go in, next thing you know he is head shotting us over a hill.

He got banned, but we lost the game. I bet he has another account within a week and is back at it.

What needs to happen is the people writing the cheats need to be nailed to the floor, which is what is happening here. It is the only way you will ever stop it.
