Not all TVs work well as monitors but I have only heard of bluring with Plasmas and old TVs, newer ones should be pretty decent especially LED ones. If it's a low to mid range then it's not going to be that good for as a monitor and a monitor would have a better picture quality, but a good mid to highend TV should be just as good as a monitor.

i have just today got my monitor back from rma, its a 28" hanns g 19/12 res screen and for the past month i have been using a 32" 1080 lg tv.

the tv is younger than the monitor, has better specs than it and cost over twice as much but still isnt as sharp.

part of that is down to the res no doubt but i think most of it is just how tv are, they aint for ultra sharp images, even the greatest of hdtv is still designed to show tv and not stills like forums and docs.

the flip side is this screen isnt great for movies like the tv is, they look too sharp and can get blocky on this while that makes them look super. swings and round abouts.

Yeah i must agree to this, because my Samsung 46" (full hd)led tv has amazingly good picture quality. Just as good or even slightly better then my LG 27" full hd monitor.
