According to the news article, the G80 hasn't done as well as anticipated as far as sales are concerned. As can be expected, the majority of the market are eagerly waiting the release of the G86 and G84 GPU's due early next year. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

Im not really suprised, i cant see many people willing to hand over several hundred pounds for a card thats not fully supported yet, especially when by the time games / OS' are well on the way into DX10, ATI will probably be pushing the G80 prices down substantially

Im hoping to get one for chistmas.

But hey Direct X10 games are a long way off. Seeing as the consoles are directx 9.

and all but some of PC games are console ports.:p

It`s plain to see that even the average pc user is leaning more this way year after year.

It would be an outstanding move, although not enabling them to tag sales off those chomping at the bit to get the new tech, to see them release the x6xxx x7xxx x9xxx etc at the same time - will never happen, but I feel it`d be a more classy move. Financially tho it`s a no brainer. But people are keen to this and are willing to w8.

G8600 - drool....

Atm I`d rather a cheaper 7950 or something, eff DX10 atm tbh.

maybe its because gfx cards are being replaced by a higher range model every month these days, whats the point spending when you know thr is something better around the corner.

Therein lies the issue for enthusiasts...

Always something better scheduled for release just months down the line...

You have pretty much hit the bullseye here. Numerous times I have held off buying because I know there will be something within a month or two that will outpace it. The problem is to know when to buy. I would love to get into buying a brand new card, using it till something new comes out and then selling it to upgrade.

I believe until vista is in the shops the graphic card sales will be slow and when crisis is out then the cards will be in short supply.
