A netbook that is neither very small, nor very light, is woefully underpowered for vista and has 1GB of RAM. So it would take a bit of upgrading to be worthwhile.

Waste of time. I just invested in an EEE PC due to the fact that it has an SSD and an Atom and can therefore stretch that tiny little battery for 8 hours. With a bigger screen and no SSD I fear this is just gonna be yet another terrible Dell creation that will inevitably break and be sent back repeatedly.

So glad I got my amilo pro v3205, 12" screen for £200 bargin of the year and runs xp/osx and now vista without a flaw. :worship::worship:

Yeah.. my last 2 laptops have been Dell for the sake of value, and I'm pretty happy with the XPS one I have currently.

what didnt you like about the EEE? which one did you try?

I've tried the 7" and 9" ones, i couldnt get on with these. 10" i loved so bought one. works brilliantly when on travel and i need to get net access.

Hmmm model ... not sure on that one. Was white tho 9" sounds about right.

I do know this much tho, the keyboard - which fair enough is small, just eeks of cheapness with its plasticivity. That was my personal feeling on it.

The wireless is/was a pita to setup, I do remember having to set it to something the router wasn`t setup for in order to get it not to just sit there displaying "seeking" - or something similar, "Pending" perhaps. And just when u kinda give up the ghost thinking it`s not going to work, it connects by itself. Turn it off/on and it would either not connect again or take 10 minutes.

Didn`t really see any advantage in using it for anything more than my phone can do, other than it has a bigger screen which is annoyingly small, and u can type web addresses easier.

There simply aren`t enough free wifi spots either. Dont know how many times I`ve seen "we have wifi" labels on buildings and places, and u connect to them to be greeted by a sign up page for a heafty fee.

Ugh, either have a laptop or a good phone. Either one will cost u £299 max.
