Dell announces 1080p SE2717H IPS FreeSync monitor

I though people were going away from 1080p now, so why release a 1080p screen?? I have 1080p 144hz and I want to move to 21;9 2k+ free sync - but its 60hz

I am scared that I will feel those 60hz........ even though I mostly play strategy games and 80% Warthunder.

I am more than happy at 1080p @60hz and i dont have freesync but this monitor looks pretty nice. There must be loads of us 1080p gamers out there still especially when looking at the steam stats 1080p is the biggest footfal for single screen use for July

I do need a new monitor....but I'm about to move house!!!...WHY!

*Looks at this 0% card*
..It's not fair!

Saying that, I still would like to naturally jump to 1440P now

Isn't the mainstream gamer on 1080p and isn't professionals also on 1080p?...

Funny part is Freesync only operates between 40 and 60 FPS IIRC. Mine does 70hz and Freesync wasn't all that great.

1440p needs to be mainstream... so much more crisp than 1080p it's unreal. Even moving to a larger screen it still looks far better. Prices should be falling down, but with the Free/Gsync stuff that raised prices on 1440p and up monitors, so regular 1440p monitors never really got the chance to fall much.

I wish the 1200p was made to be the standard and then that was scaled to 1600p instead, Still, even now, much prefer a 16:10 ratio to 16:9
