Define r3 - Air cooling remodeling

Hej Guys

I currently own the define r3 case but i have been kinda unhappy with the fans and want to change these for some much better aftermarket ones. The fans that came with the case is actually kind of noisy compared to the amount of air flow they provide. And i want my fans to be if not silent then not audible.

Inside the case Ill be running 2 x 7870 in crossfire and i have a noctua nh-d14 cooling my 3770k. All this is powered by an ax850 PSU. The noise level of the fans should not exceed the noise from the components.

My 7870´s are near silent when not gaming and i cant hear them, so they dont add noise to the system, but they still need cool air to function properly. And i have been wondering weather or not to remove some foam and install an additional fan on the side by the graphic cards to remove the hot air.

So my question goes: where should i install fans to get the best air flow inside my case?

What fans are the best value if i want silence and good air flow?

I know alot of you properly are going to say noctual nf-f12, but aint there a cheaper alternative? maybe a mix between noctua and some cheaper brand?

All ideas and suggestions are Welcome!

Get us a picture of your set up, It really depends on the type of case you have sir. I wouldn't awnser your question without knowing.

Grab your camera take some shots(:

I looked up your case it's a silent type case right? since the front of your case covers the fans you have restricted airflow from the front fans so you need powerful fans that have high CFM and moderate Dba,

-

Normally you would want the front fans as intake (cold Air)

the two top ones as exhaus (heat rises)

the back exhaust (obvious reason)

and I see you can add a side fan that should be an intake (fresh air for your 2 7870's)

-

if you are looking for fans to buy I suggest these (I'm guessing you need 120mm fans)

For extreme airflow these will do, http://www.newegg.co...N82E16835553002

For Silence - buy noctuas

Would it be sufficient to just install some Bitfenix Spectre ? I can get 4 spectre for the price of one noctua

looking at the specs they seem to be fairly equal in CF/m, DB-a, and static pressure...

I can't say anything about the Bitfenix overall quality though.

google found a 5 pack of 120 bitfenix for $50 at ncix's website...
