Decisions, decisions...

I was planning just to refresh my rig. Move it into a new case and tidy it up once and for all, or at least for a while.

Then I got thinking about my cpu and tbh, it maxes out at 3.8ghz and it's not exactly 24/7 stable at those speeds, more like 2hrs of benching stable.

I look at prices of processors, e6850 for £190 delivered. The 6x50's are 1333fsb and G0. I don't think my commando does a 1333fsb so I'd have to ditch that and the pelt and bring back the MAX. My research shows plenty of 6850's (G0) hitting 4.0ghz on air, orthos stable! Nice.

Then I look at Q6600 G0's and they are clocking nicely to 3.6 average. I can get one of those sent over for about £195! They are 1066fsb so I could keep the commando and pelt.

Not that fussed about the pelt as the psu for it makes a really annoying noise and i'd be happy to get rid.

SO,

22nd July = Intel price cuts. On what models? Rumours say QX6700, Q6600 and X6800...

I just don't know what to do!

off topic a bit....

Mr. Smith, have you notice the SB on the commando hitting 45c at stock speed??

i have a Enzotech low profile copper sink on my SB, using a digital temp prob i sometimes see 45c on the SB sink, yours the same?

@ weihk, no idea mate!

I tried checking the temp but no joy. I leave it on stock settings anyhow and it does have an aftermarket cooler on so I just assume all is well.
