Dead Motherboard?

Right I went to power on my system last night, and was greeted with a less than 1 second of power, and then nothing.

The motherboard is a Asus P6X58D-E

There are no beeps, just a small power on then quick power off.

I have removed all hardware except the cpu and I still get this problem.

I have tested the PSU in another computer and that worked fine, but when I used another PSU with the motherboard in question, it repeated what I have been seeing, with a less than one second power on.

CMOS was cleared, and all testing done, within and out side of the case.

Another thing to note is that once this power on and off has happened. I have to remove the PSU cable from the PSU and wait for a 10 seconds before I am able to recreate the problem, as it will only attempt to power on once.

Sounds like its dead to me fella, seems like no power is going to the motherboard at all and if it isnt the PSU its deffinetly the Mobo, try a different PSu on that motherboard also try using a different kettle lead on that PSu and then try powering up see what that does

Already tried that buddy. Used three different PSU's, same problem occurs with them all.

Hmm, I had a problem where my Kettle lead was the duff thing and wasnt giving enough power to the mobo so swapped the kettle lead over and it worked perfectly fine, but if its not the kettlelead i can only think ur motherboard is dead

Interesting.

If I hold down the memok button and power up the motherboard, it powers up (as long as I keep hold of the memok button). However, no display is shown, and the moment I release the button, it powers off
