Dassault Systemes reveals SOLIDWORKS for Makers, an affordable entry point

I've used Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor and fusion 360. Personally I prefer the modelling tools in Solidworks the most, but I find the scripting in inventor far superior. Fusion I find to be noticeably hamstrung to avoid competing with inventor.

For $99 a year I think this would be a superior modelling package than fusion, but the inbuilt CAM tools in fusion are very good. The last time I used CAM in Solidworks it was a complete pita, mind you that was about 5 years ago now.

Yeah, I have a preference for SolidWorks tools as well. A lot of that is because I used it in Uni and am reasonably proficient. It has been a few years since I have used it though.

I'll be subbing to this as soon as I am able to make some things to 3D print. As good as Fusion 360 is, I prefer how things work in Solidworks. Every time I use Fusion 360 I think of how I would prefer Solidworks.
