I'm sorry guys but this is overkill!

Yes, I realise this is danger den that we are speaking off, but honestly, is it worth spending so much more in the first place for getting that 10% performance boost that isn't discernable to the naked eye, not without the aid of FRAPS anyways .

But hey, if we are talking about pushing it to the limit, then maybe it might be worth it, but for the time being, I just don't see how shelling 200 bucks is worth making a 500 dollar card slightly faster.

Personally I never look at water-cooling as the solution to the heat problem, rather a solution to the noise problem.

My PC sounds like a freaking hoover, and I've hardly got any fans on it at all. When my graphics card spins up it's a deafening whine. So if I knew that my PC would be at a certain volume regardless of how much load it was under, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Of course water-cooling isn't cheap, but what price can you put on tinnitus?

its pretty expensive, but lets think a little, the dude already wasted on a gtx295, why wouldn't he go for the best cooling possible and probably he wants the best performance.

afterall heat kills also and he wouldn't like that to happen with his expensive little friend

I often read people complaining about noise, but to be honest, I've NEVER been affected by this.

I've always had my winamp cranked up and I never hear my fans even at top speed via the controller.

Furthermore, If I'm gaming, it's the game music instead. Let me tell you I stay in a Student Hostel, my bed is 5 cm away from my pc, my head is usually less than 30 cm away from my pc, and my pc is on the floor, so it levels with my head, and I've NEVER lost a night of sleep over fan noise.

But then again, maybe my fans are never loud enough? (40-60 dB range).

I know what you mean about the noise VB, but even so for £100 or so (with UK prices), I might just buy a bigger set of speakers. I can see the point if you have a). limitless money and therefore two of these cards and the pc case runs at a 1000C (minimum) or b). you want a much quieter solution for watching movies

Or c) your PC is in the lounge and so you don't want to deafen the rest of the family. Even with headphones on (my speakers are in the loft I use them so little) I can still hear the damn PC.

In your case, I can see your point. At home in my office or here at uni, I don't care too much about deafening things (thick walls and students)...but yeah watercooling is pretty expensive in this case.
