Current pc audio upgrades advice needed

Can't recommend the Scarlett series enough. One question though, does he really need the 2i4 over the 2i2? Will he use the extra 2 outputs and/or the midi interface, if not he could save some cash and get the 2i2.

Yeah he did pick that for the extra ins / outs thinking about future options indeed.
So far he had no luck finding any AISO plugins tho

ASIO plugins? What do you mean by ASIO "plugins"? ASIO is a Steinberg interface for audio communication and, as far as I am aware, has no "plugins". If you drivers then there are a few out there, the best to use would be the standard focusrite one but other than that there is "Generic" which is rubbish and "ASIO4All" which is still fairly bad but it works.

As you can tell i'm not much of an audio guy unless its caraudio where i don't have to deal with this stuff hehe.
Anyways, i linked my brother to the ASIO4all website so there should be a update here soon ^_^
