Graphics mean nothing if the actual gameplay sucks.
I think they are going at it the wrong way.
Push graphics to the limit is pointless as most of the world won't see these graphics as their hardware isn't up to it.
I think they should improve gameplay rather than graphics. But hey, whatever floats their boat.

I love eye candy but the gameplay has to be there - assassins creed is pretty beautiful but the gameplay is repetitive - yawn. My crysis experience so far is... Well I played the demo with the dx9/dx10 'hack' but the same hack won't work on the full game. As gameplay wasn't that great and I'm stuck with crappy dx9 high settings the game is gathering dust. Vista and the 38's will hopefully make the game more appealing.
I think crysis has an awesome engine and the future games that use it can concentrate on the gameplay. The future is bright!

Games like this are designed to be played as you'd like so the developer doesn't try and constantly tell you what to think. If you think killing people with a gun is too repetitive, climb a cliff then do some ninja moves off and use super strength to beat up a whole gang of them

Well, just that the hack worked for me in the demo and not the full game. I'll re-try it tonight. I tried various attack styles but meh - perhaps it was so overhyped i was expecting too much. imo bioshock looks and plays better! (Runs away)
My Opinion
I think Crysis is awesome, You can approach it in so many ways I don’t really see how it can be repetitive, As for a sequel I’m sure there will be one as it kinda leaves the story unfinished at the end. If they are going to develop the graphics even more it would be slightly ridiculous since only a very small minority can actually play this game with everything on high and on a resolution above 1024x768. Still, It’s going to be awesome seeing what that come out with they have pushed the limits with Crysis, so Crysis 2 should be even more mind blowing.

Hmm sure my post hasn't showed up.
Crysis is a good game, but I don't find it as awesome as a lot of others do here. Having said that I've only just entered "phase 2" of the game (so as not to spoil it for peeps) as I don't get much time to play it so I'm hoping it gets better
