Crysis 2 DX11 patch coming Tomorrow

frostbite is based on the older crysis 1 engine, even if they wont admit it it is so theres a good chance your right

dont let crysis 2 jade your opinion dude, get crysis 1 and warhead to see what games should be like. get metro 2032 to see another way to skin the same cat.

then get cod4 to see what a good online shooter should play like the later ones are just console ports too so ignore those.

bet you could get those 3 for under £20 today.

Cheerz dude, i have downloaded Crysis, warhead and Wars (steam had all 3 for like a fiver), but have only played a bit of Crysis1.

Crysis1 took me by suprise as it more stealth than the run and guns or Gears of War/CoDs etc. I did the free multiplayer of Black Ops at the weekend and even though Bl-ops isnt exactly the graphical yardstick of PC gaming, it still blew me away compared to the 360 version. CoD4 looked killer on the 360 so i shudder to think what it looks like on the PC (might have to download the Star Wars Galactic warfare mod for it)

I have updated to the latest patch (v1.8) and previously I never experienced any issue with 5870 crossfire. But now, I get random shadows from the light source and ambient occulation equivilant goes haywire. I have to disable crossfire everytime I play it now but I've already completed it on the Veteran difficulty and I must say everything is almost near rushed feel, it's clear a mud where to go next and the enemies can be taken down very easily despite the difficulty setting. Even on one 5870 I still got 60fps constantly maxed out @1600x900 so lack of crossfire support really isn't that much of a reason to cut off the game if you are happy to tolerate the let down graphics.

i havent finished the campaign yet, but it does feel a bit "fetchy" a linear. Feels like they are trying to do a CoD in a nano suit, but the campaign of the CoDs had pace and depth I understood what was going, but C2 i just feel like a bit of a passenger in game rather than the player

Anywho back on the track of the thread, Even if they do a DX11 patch, im not gonna be rushing from work to do the update

cod4 isnt a looker mate but what it is is the perfect, guys with guns vs guys with guns mp game. the game play is is so even and the perks dont make anything over powered. some servers will limit the weapons you use as some are a pita but if you look around you willl find some that are still played as its meant to be and as much as the 203 and martydom will annoy you its equally fun to use them

im still waiting on the dx11 patch to buy this btw, they aint getting my money without it and if it drops in price before they do then its their loss not mine.

Crytek have said that they are currently working on some media for the dx11 patch so it could be soon

Sadly I was totally bored of this game 3 months ago then uninstalled it, and thoroughly glad I've gone back to BC2, it'll tide me over until BF3

Yeah that happened to me, I was getting pc lockups. But I just reinstalled the game, updated my nvidia drivers and run it as an admin and it's all gd for me
