Get Crysis 2 now. It's better looking than Metro 2033 DX 11 overall, and more fun, i think. It is excellent

I think metro looks better for what you actually see. Remember metro is full of dark dingy tunnels and haze, crysis 2 is full on daylight and colourful flower beds. It depends how you define better looking

I do not know why the company would be all hush hush if they were going to put out a DX11 patch. So unless they plan on charging extra money for the patch, I do not think it is going to happen.
But you know what game still loves the PC guys and comes with DX11 out the box? Battlefield 3! wuuu wuuuut!

If Crytek or EA charge me for a DX11 Patch, I'll probably destroy my Crysis 2 in a fit of rage and get the Xbox Version. Especially if it's just a cheaply done implementation of Direct X 11.

Ditto. i would be suprised if they do a DX11 patch at all, i mean the game has been out a while now, doing a DX11 patch isnt gonna bring it crashing back in to the games chart
But it would bring about a new saying. "Will it run Crysis 2" Which you can easily turn into a pun.

The thing is I haven't played it yet and i'm not going to until it's DX11. That might sound like i'm cutting my nose off to spoil my face but i'd rather wait until it is DX11, there are games that are coming with proper DX11 like BF3, skyrim etc but not for a while.

fair play to you and i dont blame you for holding back at all. Crysis 2 was my 1st proper PC game and i was really looking to a game that was gonna show that my £1500 investment in PC gaming gonna be was worth it, and as beautuful as it does look, it just feels like a bought a very pretty Console version
in a few months time i think we are gonna be saying "can it run Battlefield 3"
frostbite is based on the older crysis 1 engine, even if they wont admit it it is so theres a good chance your right
dont let crysis 2 jade your opinion dude, get crysis 1 and warhead to see what games should be like. get metro 2032 to see another way to skin the same cat.
then get cod4 to see what a good online shooter should play like the later ones are just console ports too so ignore those.

I deffinatly would not say crysis 1 is what a game should be like. Bad coding and even the graphics look a bit shoddy compared to game nowdays, dispite still needing a super computer to play it. Then theirs the actual fact that the game sucks, well its great untill you get into the alien spaceship, then your NANO suit the thing that made the game great in the beggining is about as much use against aliens as harsh language would be. Game should of ended after killing the general. Warhead did the crysis name a good turn it still has aliens in it But prodomanetly its all about the suit functions. The only good crysis is for is for benchmarking your system.
I am so anti crysis its unreal. All it did was bring snobbery to the gaming community, You felt like an outcast because you had never seen a bloody palm tree fall over in DX10.
And i realy hope frostbyte 2 is not based on the old crytek engine. as the crytek engine is probably the worst peice of coding to ever hit the scene. Maybe it was just EA wanting to rush games out that are badly coded, as farcry 1 and 2 worked fine under the ubisoft name.
And I have played crysis 2 on consoles and beleive me its 10 times better on the PC you can be sure of that. Well it would be if it wasnt for the Cryengine not liking crossfire.
