crossfire options

Hey

I'm gonna do a crossfire with my two 6870 and I was just wondering how much difrence it would be between connecting them to two pci-e x16 or to two pci-e x8.

I need to know this 'cause I'm gonna buy a new motherboard

Some people say 10-15% but tbh I cant see the point if you are buying a new rig why you wouldnt want to get 16x 16x incase you get faster cards later.

Ill always go 16x 16x with mine.

I've just bought a sandy bridge board with 8x 8x for my 6950 crossfire, but that's because of the chipset limitation. And I didn't want to pay the extra cash for the ones with the extra chip that allows 16x 16x.

But if you have a better budget than I, or want a 1366 / AM3 socket, go for 16x 16x.
