I got my daughter one of the flip laptop Insperon Due which turns into a touch pad type thing a few months back and it had a drastic failure on the Hard drive and died a horrible crunching death.

Now the laptop is not what id call the best thing n the earth in the first place but after having a word with dell they came and pick up the laptop with in the time frame i had asked for. Then over the Christmas period swapped out the mother bored, the hard drive and the wifi card (didn't even know that had gone).

I did get a telephone call from them saying that the hard drive they had replaced it with failed there tests and they would need to wait a few more days while another one came into stock. Not a problem at all as far as im concerned at least the phoned me and let me know (top service).

Then a fe days later another phone call from them telling e the hard drive had arrived and the that the laptop would be on its way to me. Cool. Then another phone called (automated) asking me when i would be in for it to be delivered (OMG how many phone calls this is top notch stuff).

Once the laptop had arrived with in the allotted time frame all neatly packed and on time. I then received another telephone call this time from a manager asking if ever thing was oky and all so asking how was i treated by there staff. Well i told him i was very happy OFC and wished that just some other companies would take a leaf out of there book and give just 1/2 the support they did.

So my hat off to Dell well done on your back up support and thank you.

My daughter is now happy again.

Nice to hear this. Dell business support is top notch too, but their consumer support usually isn't as good. After dealing with all the top PC manufacturers over the last 10 years, I buy only Dell for printers, servers, laptops, and desktop PCs for the business. When I call I get a person within 5 minutes. I tell them the problem, what I did to try to remedy it, then they verify my address. The next day there is a box delivered to the office that contains either the replacement part or totally new replacement. I pack the faulty item in the box, put the prepaid sticker on the outside, and drop it off at Fedex or UPS. A day or so later a manager will call to verify everything is resolved and I am satisfied.

HP on the other hand...I'd never touch them again and I worked for an authorized HP repair center for the region. Their business support is awful.

This is awesome and really good to hear, but then again a certain company may be great for someone and not so good for someone else.

Dell are too good.

I remember 5 years ago when i got my dell pc, i did not not a single thing about pc components or software installation, not one little bit 100% NOOB. About a year later the pc crashed badly and it had to be rebooted but i didn't know how to install XP MCE so i called dell about 1 hour before there phone lines were closing.

Within that hour, they helped me through the processes of installing xp, step by step, telling me what i see on the screen and what to and what not to press. After the hour was up, the technician told me 'tomorrow we will call again at the time suitable for you and get all the latest drivers installed'.

So next day got a phone call at 2pm and 1 hour later my pc was back up and running perfectly. The phone was then handed over to the manager who asked me how the service and i said it was top notch, the best i've received.

To sum up, Dell's service is one of thee best out there, it felt good to be appreciated as a customer

Nice. I've never had to call Dell customer service, but that is awesome man.

Nice to see some positive feedback being given to a company for a change. Whenever I've dealt with them they have always been very good.
