Creative Assembly releases Total War: Warhammer 2's PC system requirements

Seems worse than the original. I do however feel that should be a given. If you have seen any of the map reveals or gameplay of the New World campaign, it is MASSIVE. Much bigger and more detailed than before.

Although with that said it does kinda suck for me. Using a 480 at 1440p was pretty playable even with 40v40. But if a 1070 is recommended for 1080p. Looks like I'm screwed:p

Just turn it down from Ultra, not exactly a huge deal. The good thing about Total War is that the settings are usually very scalable. Who needs SSOA when you are usually zoomed out far enough to not notice the detail?

I only play on ultra. It's a noticeable difference in this game series compared to others where high and very high are the same thing.
The best way to reduce performance hits in TW is to drop the Shadows setting down to low or off. That setting alone can cause more than a 10FPS difference. Also at 1440p I turn off AA or the lowest setting. Depends on the battle size.
I need SSAO! Lol
I play pretty close in the battles. I'm fast enough to micro so I have time to zoom in. On campaign I usually don't mid to late game. And with the way this new game looks, I probably will do the same thing but I'll probably even have to turn down more than Shadows and SSAO just by the sheer scale of everything.

I'll agree with you that, this series has a bigger graphical difference than most when moving through the game's graphical settings.

TBH SSAO is what I usually turn off first in most games, then shadows. Depth of field effects is what I also enjoy turning off if I need extra performance, but it seems that it is off by default in Warhammer II.

It will be very interesting to see exactly how well this game runs. I love the Total War series.

One hope I have for this game is that it will have a better DirectX 12 implementation and better utilise Multi-threading. That being said, the original Total War: Warhammer was a huge jump for the Total War Engine.

Agreed on DX12.
The engine was improved for better multi threading, but it was because the new audio software they used, Wwise, allows it to run on a separate core/2 threads. So it really helped them out.
The biggest improvement was 64 bit. Updating the whole engine to 64 bit was the reason why Warhammer was the best TW game ever. So much faster turn times and really let the graphics go up to a whole new level because it can finally address more memory.
DX12 was nice but a let down. It's worse in most cases I find. I hope they detail more about it's improvement before the release of the Grand Campaign. Because with a map that big.... CPUs are going to be dying. We are gonna need all the multi thread possible!
