I don't go to clubs anymore, I did when I was 17 up to when I was about 18.

I don't really find 'Clubs' to be fun at all.

Loads of people who que up outside & pay to get squished in a dark room with crap music so loud they can't hear eachother speak.

I mainly go to pubs and gigs tbh. A lot less townies and also less trouble (as in unprovoked fights etc).

I was into clubbing, hardcore/dance/trance music and DJ'd a few times when I was 17-18 and I went around with one of my mates who is a DJ to do a few sessions. Made a few mixes using software on the pc.

It was easy to mix stuff on turntables etc, which is why I don't see what the fascination is.

The last time I went to a club was when I went to a 'rock' night, which was quite pitifull tbh.

The really good djs absolutely rock!!

I wanna try djing but

1) its hard to get gd

2) expensive

3) you need to choose the right songs to mix into

Its all very skilled from choosing the playlist to beatmatching and maybe adding a nice bit of scratch (Dj Sy anyone?)

Even CD and mp3 mixing is hard wen done correctly (with the decks not a proggy)

Bah, excuses - "when I were a lad" all u needed were 2 turntables, with a bit of adjustment (usually a diy slip mat would be fine), some form of amp (preferably with something u can use as a crossfader), and a crappy tape deck.

Oh and buy 2 copies of everything :p James Brown was the thing to get, and u could get that cheap cheap, so 2 copies was nothing. Aye and stickers at the same point on each - very handy.

U can get a usb turntable for $75 now.

Oh like scratching? IMO that is just stupid, why ruin your needle man. And if you got money to buy a diamond one, why ruin your records? As for CDing, easy. I made a grand in one night by making a playlist based on the croud i would have and had request tunes lined up as well on a laptop. They said it was the best DJ work they heard. No the REAL hard part is MCing while your DJing. PLaying the music is simple. Some people just dont have the umph to MC.

Not as stupid as the rock people who like to smash their guitar. Now that is plain and simple stupid.

If you look closesly they are either stars and can afford it, or they are using a really cheap crap guitar that cost little to nothing. Or do like me and pay 25 bucks for a cheap one and smash it. Ive only done that once though, and the clean up afterwards sucks. Which is prolly why nobody does it anymore. This is 2007, not 83.

Think avril lavigne did it last year, But im sure other reasons were in her head. She's such a troubled girl, yet so fit. Nathan just doesnt know...

God I feel old and I'm only 28 lol!

I've only heard of the Chemical Brothers, but Lisa Pin Up sounds familiar.

Back when I was a lad, Dreamscape was the big event, or Helter Skelter, with the likes of Dougal, Slipmat, Grooverider, Clarkee, Ellis Dee, DJ Hype, etc.

Oh yeah and the DJ was only really cool if he had a Technics turn-table haha! All that scratching and spinbacks whilst the MC was losing it on the mic.

Ahhh the god old days...and yes I am an old fart :)

Man Ins, im still into that!!! Im only 15 and i prefer that to all this "new" stuff

Still not old enough to attend events like that tho :(

Well Dreamscape is no more :(

Not since the main promotor died in his Porsche :( They did run some amazing raves though (not that I ever went) but I followed the scene and listened to the music.

DJ Hype was always good and Dougal was one of my favourites also. Grooverider was a little bit heavy for me with his drum and bass, but he did have some good moments!

Ahh this just all reminds me when I was younger. I used to listen to Dreamscape and Helter Skelter and watch TV shows like GamesMaster with Dominic Diamond haha! :D

Then I'd play on my original Gameboy or SNES and sometimes go around to my mates how for a go on his Megadrive haha! Damn I even remember the old Sega MasterSystem!! Shocking eh!!

Mind you, when I was a kid (like 8 or 9) I had a BBC Acorn with games like Space Invaders haha!

Anyway, I've gone WAY off topic :p

who are all these people, i was expecting an all star line up, when i read the title, instead, i am faced with a load of people, which upuntil now, i never knew existed :|

where's the +44, where's the killers, where's the snow patrol, where's the good music?!
