CRC errors when trying to burn discs?

Hey guys, I'm having a spot of bother.

ok firstly i was trying to burn a dvd using Nero 7 (under vista) and i got a CRC error on it, it had burned the 1gb intro onto the disc (can be seen after its spat out) so the disc is now unusable.

anyway tried ripping a dvd to hard drive using dvd shrink and its doing CRC errors also!

i remember reading something about swapping the primary/slave settings on the drives so i've done that and its still doing it.

any ideas or advice as to what it might be?

i've tried a couple of dvd's and some i've ripped before and its just not having it :(

cheers guys

Hi mate, i would like to help you but did you try few things

1.I use xp,did you try burning cd/dvd on windows based,or media player

2.Is it your burner set to secondary master

3.It might be also corupted files what are you trying to burn

4.I had same problem long time so i switch IDE cable from 40 in 80-conductor that solve my problem.

Cheers

running vista, used nero, and the windows thing itself, i've tried the drives both ways as master and slave and the files have been verified as uncorrupted as they burned on another pc :(

i'm gonna source a new IDE cable as this seems to be the only advice i can find

nope got a DVD rom and a DVD rw , it seems it was the disc i was trying at the time i tried dvd dycrptor and that seemed to sort it, then tried dvd shrink on a different disc and it worked (this was after changing the cable). however the first disc still threw up a CRC thing with dvd shrink. :S i dno i'm at a loss lol

i'll keep testing.. still gotta try burning something yet don't have any discs handy atm
