Crackling Noise

Hello everyone,

So my audio setup is: Asus Xonar STX with Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250Ohm

Lately i have noticed a crackling sound happening sometimes when that little facebook chat sound is played which did not happen before. Also here: http://www.audiocheck.net/soundtests_headphones.php

When i play some of those audio clips sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt.

Anyone here have any idea of what is causing it?

As odd as this is...
I have the STX too, and I'm getting the same noise on facebook chat.
Mine does it through speakers as well as my DT770s.

I have no idea what the issue is, it's not something that really bothers me tbh - but it only started happening to me a few days ago too.

Oh lol, small question, are you also using Chrome?

Im guessing Chrome is the problem here, cause i just played the same audio clips from Firefox and they werent there.

Maybe they did an update or something and they messed it up i dont know but good to know its not the fault of the soundcard or headphones because that would suck.

I'm on 8 64bit.

The 'problem' doesn't really bother me at all though. It's a tiny bit of static noise on a half second facebook chat notification.

Just wanted to say it isn't just his system if I'm having the same 'issues'.

I have the same problem and im on chrome on windows 8 64bit.

Im on Win7 64 bit, though for me it isnt just a bit of static, its pretty annoying but im pretty sure its something to do with Chrome and not faulty hardware.

It only really does it when something is really bassy on youtube, on media player its fine so i would put it down to chrome. It started about a week ago for me.

Yeah same, around 3-5 days ago! Might go to using firefox for a bit until thats solved cause im an audio freak so that annoys me lol

I do editing and its annoying as hell spending hours doing something and it being crackly.
