CPU Upgrade for more render performance

So as my title says, I need more render performance but for cheap as my current FX-8320 isn't really cutting it with it taking the lovely long time of 27 minutes for After Effects to render a 15 second clip with a small bit of colour correction and denoising.

The main problem with the upgrade is that I need to spend as little as possible and I really have no idea what to go for. I was going to wait for a LinusTechTips video on dual socket 1366 xeons that is supposed to be cheap and have performance better than that of an i7.

I'm not really too bothered about getting more performance in terms of gaming but I would just really like a way to get much better render times without breaking the bank.

TL;DR
More rendering performance with similar gaming performance for under £200.

Black friday deals and an i5 or i7 sounds like a good plan.

Alternatively there is a FX 9590, though it is essentially just you going from 4.4GHz to 4.7-5.0GHz, but it is a CPU that is selling at scan for £147 or so right now.

Will I see much of an increase in render times if I switched to the FX 9590 or the 4690k or 3570k? I'm feeling like just going for the dual CPU's because I want a project aswell as the performance seems to be slightly better with dual Xeon E5649's compared with the 4690k, which is still more expensive when factoring in the fact I would need to find a new mobo for it too.

If you are heavily using After Effects or any similar software I would highly suggest saving up for an i7. If it's just occasional then its up to you if the extra money would a ROI(return on investment), if not then i'd say the 4690k is your best option and OC'ing it should help too.

So I take it that my hope and dream of the dual socket motherboard is something you feel I would be wasting my money on? If so then please tell me before I look any more into it. :dead7:

The only reason I have even considered the upgrade is because it fits almost perfectly to the budget of £150 that I would have after selling my current mobo and CPU. Where as the i5 and mobo combo will set me back closer to £250 which is money I really don't have at the moment and if so I will just need to wait and save.

If you can get 2 Xeon e5469s along with a board at that price then by all means go for it. Hopefully you have a case that can fit boards with 2 CPUs as they tend to be no smaller than EATX.
