CPU temp comparisons... chart ?

Is there a list anywhere (I have looked myself without joy) where under a set condition, cpu temps are listed ?

I'm thinking along the lines of.. stock values.. ambient temp the same.. and a list of all cpus - just like u get performance listings.

Be very helpful when judging which cpus may be better in certain conditions. Like do u stick a E5200, E2140, E6850, Q9400 in a small box to get the best temp at stock (within a boundary maybe) - perhaps vS component performance required.

EDIT: reflecting on it, Watts @ stock would be pretty much the same - now that has to be somewhere in this day'n'age.

I don't believe there is one. Usually judging the situation upon the level of airflow in the case, the rated TDP of the CPU, operating voltage and the heatsink used is the best way to form such a judgement.

Yeah, kinda a suck-it-and-see approach.

It would be nice to see a comparison.

Airflow is one thing. If u have a project coming up - no matter what cpu u use, the airflow is the same, the cooler is almost certainly the same.. inherently everything else is going to be a constant condition except ur decision on using which cpu.
