Cpu Performance with SpeedStep

So I'm running my i5 3570k @ 4.7ghz in the Bios i set the voltage at 1.3900, but my GD65 & it's Vdroop is different than most boards I've owned so it runs the cpu really at 1.3440v (86c) which is acceptable for me, I don't have an amazing chip and I don't really care I just want stability for 24hrs and lower voltages just don't work (crashes),

my Question is am I loosing performance using SpeedStep because I'll be at idle and it will be switching from 1.6ghz to 4.7ghz o__o tf is it doing? can I trust it to stay at 4.7ghz when I need it to? can someone vouch for SpeedStep technology?

I like it so far due to my idles dropping by 15c I get like 28c on all cores on idle

29c on all cores compaired to 45c without it o__o <3

the performance difference should be negligible maybe a second of "lag" (i use the term lag loosely),
but never tried it on my gd65 as when i'm not doing anything, the rig is folding therefore using 100% cpu anyway so would be pointless for me lol.

Sometimes background processes can need a surge of CPU power to get the job done as soon as possible, hence the jump to 4.7GHz now and again. It's perfectly normal, and that's what should happen.
Launch IBT or something similar to see just how fast the clocks ramp up - you should be just fine.
One thing I would say, is that you're running at a high clock - sometimes SpeedStep etc. does not help with the stability of the system.

Yeah I would recommend turning speedstep off, also 86c is quite high so you may want to think about dropping down to 4.5ghz to improve temps and also run at a lower vcore, the performance between 4.5 and 4.7 will not be noticable in everyday use

doesn't matter how hot my cpu gets nothing I do is gonna make all cores 100%.. 86c is nothing my cooling solution keeps up and I don't get any throttling so it's not like it's overheating, this is without pushpull on my H100, when I get my 2 other corsair fans it will be cooler

'Nothing I do is gonna make all cores 100%' That is exactly I would downclock a little, there is no need to have it at 4.7 if it makes no difference from say 4.5ghz, IMO I really would not be comfortable with anything above 80c
