CPU / Mobo / Ram

I have a chance to pass my current CPU/Mobo and Ram to my GF and purchase myself a new setup to run under my Mach II ST.

I cannot afford the likes of the FX55 and highly doubt it is at all worth that kind of money.

So what are your ideas on what I should get please?

Well I just bought some kit for a mate I bought a 3000 winchester ( this wont be anygood for your prom as there are subzero temp issues) and an abit a8v mobo because it was the cheapest 939 mobo a 9600 radeon because I was on a budget cheap memory and case loool

For you I would say go 939 as apposed to P4 socket 775 and with 939 it will be around for a while therefor upgradable

Get a 3200 winnie on an nforce4 board with something like a 6800GT or 6600GT. How much of a budget are you actually on?

Sorry I really did not post much info heh!

Mainly for games.

I have a x800 XT @ 575 MHz / 613 MHz AGP card (The GF will get the 9800pro).

The budget is not too tight roughly:

£250 max for CPU

Best mobo for overclocking

Best ram for the above combo

But it needs to be compatable with my Mach II and sata drives, also an idea of roughly what speeds I could be looking at.

All in all I would like it to be better than my P4 @ 4GHz.

I can see 3 routes:

1)Get another P4c and hope it clocks better than my current one.

2)Get a P4e and hope I can get 4.5GHz+ Stable... in my current setup.

3)Switch to A64, but I am weary of both motherboard and CPU compatabilities with the mach II and overclockability.

My Geil already does 290FSB 2.5,4,4,8 but I will change it if someone has a better solution (after all I have to get some anyhow for the GF).
